Step 1: Scale the Stickers
The most challenging part of this project was getting the scale of the stickers right so it looked good on the suitcase and as close to my in game references as I could get. I downloaded the high resolution references for all of the stickers from the Mario wiki then got to scaling them in my Cricut design software. I used the print and cut feature to get really clean lines everywhere, but you could easily scale them in a word document and cut them by hand. Most of the main area stickers are in the 4.5-6in size range. I kept all of the original aspect ratios and played with them until I liked it. The small coin, brick, pipe, and question block stickers are all 2.3in tall. Step 2: Seal the Stickers
The printable photo paper I used some of the ink would come off if you scratched it, so I made sure to use some clear spray paint to seal them to prevent damage. Just two coats of the spray paint seemed to work well. |
Step 3: Stick the Stickers On!
The last step here is obviously to add the stickers to the suitcase. My sticker paper worked super well so I just took my time looking at Peach in the game to make sure I got the stickers as accurately attached as possible. And that's it, the suitcase is done! |
