Jellyfishing Net Tutorial

Picture
Step 1: Adjust Net to Size
This first step the butterfly net I purchased is adjustable so I got it to the length I liked and then I used my packing tape to secure it in place. I used packing tape because it is very thin so it will not add bulk to the handle, but still strong.

Step 3: Paint & Seal
I used all acrylic paint on this and then sealed with mod podge. Looks right out of bikini bottom!
Materials You Will Need
  • 10in butterfly net (I used this one from Amazon)
  • foam clay
  • acrylic paint
  • mod podge
  • white spray paint
  • packing tape

Step 2: Sculpt Bamboo Reeds
To get the Bikini Bottom look I covered the entire handle with foam clay and sculpted little reeds so it looked like bamboo. It took quite some time but I think the end result is great.

The foam clay was then primed with mod podge, and I primed the head of the net with some white spray paint so I could paint over it with acrylics.
